Head to Head with the man in charge
Today's guest : cptnclutch of Buffalo Bills
What is your team philosophy?
Well the team philosophy is to win as many games as possible. We have all of the talent and my coaching staff and I have to make sure we are putting everyone in the right positions to succeed.
You've had some great success this season but how do you continue it?
We have to just continue to focus each week and keep playing good football.
Your team is now at 6-2, matching the number of total games won last year. What are the reasons for early season success and fast turnaround?
We have gotten to a place in our offense that we are comfortable. The guys are trusting each other to make the plays they are suppose to make. We aren't making the mistakes that we have in the past and are closing out games.
The team started out 4-0 but have gone 2-2 in the last 4 does this concern you at all?
The teams recent sputter doesn't concern me. We have a good team and good leaders. Starting off 4-0 makes it much easier to be ok with how things are right now. We have the team leaders here to keep this team in tact and keep us on the right path.
The franchise hasn't been to the playoffs since 1999, with a 6-2 start the team is very well on their way to ending the playoff drought have you thought about that?
No I haven't we want to focus on one game at a time. I have stressed it to the players that we can't look to the future because one play can change your entire season.
How many wins do you think it would take to play in post season?
It's always hard to gauge how many wins it will take. The general consensus is 10 wins should secure a playoff spot.
Also Bills are currently ranked 2nd in sacks. What changes have you made to create pressure that was not there last season?
Well this last offseason we focused on bringing in guys that can get to the qb. Mario and Mark create matchup problems up front which also makes it so guys have one on one situations that we have been winning.
Everybody knows about Bills two headed monster at RB, and also that 2 star RBs can not be kept together for a long time. What is your plan going forward?
Fred is the heart and soul of this offense but CJ is the future. Having two great backs is a blessing but also a curse at the same time. Trying to find a good balance between the two and getting both the necessary touches to help our offense be productive.
If you have to pick a team( or teams) that you consider at championship caliber teams who are they and why?
Well it's hard to look past the Titans right now since we did lose to them and are currently first in the conference.
Does this team have the talent to win it all?
Talent wise I believe we can compete with anyone. Do I think we can win it all? Only time will tell. We just have to take it one week at a time.
